'SYMPHONY for SMILES'

'SYMPHONY for SMILES' An outstanding success

Health for Humanity wish to thank Notes of Compassion (Musicians of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra), Maestro Bramwell Tovey, the internationally acclaimed piano soloists Jon Kimura Parker and Ian Parker and MC Bill Richardson who combined their incredible talents to make the concert an unforgettable event.

The concert was an incredible success, far exceeding all our expectations!  Feedback from the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra musicians, and the special guest performers, indicated that they were overwhelmed by the audience turnout (sold-out venue!), and were more than pleased to lend their musical talents and energy to such a worthy cause.

Many audience members, including some who confessed they were not "regular" symphony attendees, emailed or called to say how much they enjoyed the concert, and that they were reminded that our city hosts one of the finest orchestras led by the most charming and charismatic conductor, Bramwell Tovey.

About 200 of our members and supporters enjoyed a delightful VIP reception before the concert, which helped to promote interest in the work of H4H, as evidenced by the donations we received both during and after the concert!  Most importantly, all who attended the concert were moved by the impact that our work has on the lives of Guatemalans and their families.

To our members, we would not have been able to sell out the Chan Centre, or raise the incredible net amount of $80,000 for future H4H surgical missions and public health development projects without you! In addition to making our H4H surgical missions so successful year after year, you have proven to be a great fund-raising team!

To our supporters, we are greatful that, even in these difficult economic times, you filled the Chan Centre and helped us raise an incredible sum of money. We kae very seriously the responsibility of putting this money to the best use to improve the health of the rural Guatemalans who have no access to health care as we know it.  We hope that you will continue to support H4H and our future endeavours.

Muchas gracias to each and every one of you.

As this year comes to a close, we send our best wishes for 2010 to each of you.
